Batch upload and tag contacts in NOAN for easy organization.

Published:

NOAN makes it easy to bring your contacts into your workspace—whether you’re importing a large list or just a handful of new connections. Here’s how to do it:

1. Uploading Contacts via CSV

Best for: Large batches of contacts

Step-by-Step

  • Prepare Your CSV FileYour CSV must have a column called name (this should include both first and last names in the same cell).

  • You can also include these optional columns:alias

  • email

  • phone

  • website

  • company

  • role

  • memo (for any extra info you want to store about each contact - you can add up to 10 memos at once as part of an import).

Example:

  • Upload Your CSVGo to the NOAN Network page.

  • Click the Upload CSV button in the top right corner.

  • Select your file and follow the prompts.

  • Review & ConfirmNOAN will process your file and show you a preview.

  • Confirm the import to add your contacts.

Note:

  • You can’t batch add tags during CSV upload.

  • To add tags, see the “Tagging Contacts” section below.

2. Batch Upload via the Assistant

Best for: Small batches or when you want to add tags at the same time

Step-by-Step

  • Prepare Your ListHave your list of names and emails ready (you can include other details if you like).

  • Ask the AssistantIn your NOAN workspace, tell the assistant: “I have a list of names and emails I want to batch upload as contacts.”

  • Paste your list when prompted.

  • **Add Tags (Optional)**If you want to tag these contacts, tell the assistant which tag to use.

  • If the tag doesn’t exist, ask the assistant to create it and assign it during upload.

3. Tagging Contacts After Upload

  • **CSV Upload:**You can’t batch add tags during the CSV upload, but you can ask the assistant to tag contacts after they’re imported.Example: “Tag all contacts with the memo ‘VIP customer’ as ‘VIP’.”

  • **Assistant Upload:**The assistant can add tags as part of the upload process for small batches.

Tips & Possibilities

  • Use the memo column for any extra info you want to store about a contact.

  • Title the memo column, memo, memo2, memo3 and so on up to memo10

  • If you need to organize or sort contacts by tags after upload, just ask the assistant.

  • For ongoing imports, keep your CSV template handy and update as needed.
