What's new at NOAN

The hosted Slack app: connect your NOAN workspace once and she answers from your facts, captures new ones as review-gated cards, runs the board, and works client channels over Slack Connect.

Install the app, connect a NOAN workspace with one General API key, and Verity works from your company's facts in every channel you invite her to. The public install link is slack.getnoan.com/install.

Ask her anything, grounded in your facts

Mention @Verity in a channel or a DM and she answers from the facts that place is allowed to see, naming the topics she drew on. A DM shows a person only what their channels already show them; the owner's DM sees everything.

Build your fact layer without leaving Slack

Type fact: <statement> and she drafts a fact card in the thread with Looks right, Not quite, and See full wording. She looks for an existing fact it belongs with first and only proposes a new topic as a last resort. Drop a PDF or Word file with a word about it and its claims come back as the same review cards. Nothing is written to NOAN until the person who decides that stack approves it.

Run NOAN from the channel

Ask her to add a task, add a contact, save a note, or set a reminder, and it happens in NOAN, attributed to whoever asked. Tag any NOAN task with Verity and she works it, asking the owner one question in a DM thread when she needs it and parking it for a human after three attempts.

Fact checks and meeting capture

A message that contradicts a saved fact gets one quiet reply offering an update or leaving it as is. Connect a Granola key and new meetings sync every fifteen minutes: external attendees become contacts in your network, and facts from a customer meeting are proposed in that customer's channel for review.

Working with client teams

This is where it earns its place. Share a channel with a client over Slack Connect and Verity answers in the open, so the client sees the facts being made, but only your own people, signed in on your company domain, can trigger her; the client's side is ignored by design. Bind a channel to a customer with /verity customer set and their meetings, facts, and agreed action items flow to a dedicated Customer stack and onto the NOAN board. Channel scope lets you hide any stack a client channel should never draw on, and fact checks and conversation harvesting are switched off in shared channels on purpose.

Add comments to any task, in the app and via the API, for humans and agents to share context.

Open any task and use the comment thread to leave context, ask a question, or record a decision right where the work lives. Each comment shows its author, avatar, and timestamp, and can be deleted.

Comments are visible to everyone with permission to see the task, and updates appear live for those users.

The feature is also available on the API, so both people and agents can add context to a task programmatically.

The NOAN MCP is live, letting any MCP-compatible client read and write your NOAN workspace so every tool your team uses runs from one source of truth.

What it is

The Activity Feed works like a social feed, but instead of posts it shows every update and action taken in your workspace. Each entry is an action: what happened, who did it, and when.

Every actor, not just people

The feed captures actions by team members and by API keys alike. That means your agents, your connected apps, and your websites all show up right alongside your human teammates. As you point more agents at NOAN, this becomes the clearest way to see exactly what they are doing as they work for you.

90 days of history

The feed goes back 90 days, so you can scroll the full recent story of your workspace: what changed, in what order, and by whose hand or which key.

Why it matters

When people, apps, and AI agents are all acting on your business at once, you need one place that answers "what is going on right now, and who is doing it." The Activity Feed gives you that clarity: real-time visibility into your agents at work, and an at-a-glance record of every move across your workspace.

Titled Network memos

Memos on a contact now carry a title, in the app and across the REST API. As you point more agents at NOAN, they write to contact memos automatically, and that history can pile up fast. A title on each memo acts as an orchestration layer for a contact's context: you (and any agent reading the record) can see at a glance what each memo covers instead of scrolling through raw text. Titles can be set manually or generated by the NOAN assistant, and they're exposed on the API so anything you build can read and write them too.

Granular, switch-based Agent API Keys

Agent API Keys now support fine-grained, on/off permissions so you can hand an agent exactly the access it needs, and nothing more:

• Read and Write toggles per feature - Facts, Notes, Tasks, Assets, Contacts.
• Facts scoped by stack: grant an agent all facts in a stack, or drill in and toggle individual facts, for read and for write.
• A separate "Allow agent to create new facts" switch, independent of read/write on existing facts.
• Manage, edit, or revoke existing keys from Settings > API.

The result: every agent you build on NOAN can be given least-privilege access to your fact base, so you stay in control of exactly what each one can see and change.

  • API keys are now issued with granular, resource-specific scopes (e.g., fact:read, contact:write) instead of blanket access.
  • Each key’s permissions are limited by the issuing user’s role—no more automatic inheritance of all possible permissions.
  • Existing API keys (created before this update) remain unaffected and retain full API access, still subject to user-level permission caps.
  • New API keys (created via onboarding) are, by default, scoped to facts only.

• Pre-requisites for facts are no longer referenced or enforced in the app.

Tags & Tasks Preset

• Removed default tags and tasks preset from new organizations.

Stack Locking & Defaults

• "Foundations" is now the only locked stack in the UI and is the default pre-populated stack for all newly created organizations.

In the Details Panel, you can now click any related element in "Connected Elements" to instantly select and focus it in the graph.

Assistant Update

We also shipped an update to the assistant in Network so it now knows timestamps of memos, so you can for example ask it to look at your most recent sales calls and give you feedback on your approach.

Tips for Setup:

• Both "Update Contact" and "Add Memo to Contact" require the Contact ID.
• To easily get the Contact ID, use the "Find Contact" action as a step in your Zap.

Real-World Use Case

Imagine you use Granola as your note taker. Now, whenever you add a call note to a specific folder in Granola (e.g., "NOAN"), a Zap can automatically search for the related contact in NOAN. If the contact doesn't exist, it creates one and adds the details from your note. If the contact is already there, it simply attaches the call transcript as a memo. This means every call you have can be instantly documented and linked to the right contact, making transcripts and context available for your whole team to reference at any time.

We've made an update to Smart Blocks. Now you can easily see who was the last person in your team to update a block and make a change to a fact on NOAN.

We've added a new widget to activity so you can see the latest contacts into your Network.

You can jump straight to the latest contact from the widget or navigate to a chronological list of your contacts. This easily enables your team can easily keep across the latest contact updates.

We've also added the ability to batch upload contacts with company, role and memo. This makes it even easier to export your contacts from traditional CRM platforms into NOAN Network.

We've updated NOAN Network you can now easily manually search if you need, add and update your contacts role and company and batch import.

Key changes:

Search bar now available in the NOAN Network page, this will search all context of any contact including their memos and company or role.

Contacts list view now available organized by your latest contacts.

Ask the assistant or manually add the role and company to any user, you can add as many users as you want to the same company. This can be updated manually or by the assistant at any time.

Batch import now includes the company and role so you can migrate your users from traditional CRMs like Hubspot.

Notes have been a big feature for our users and now we've made them even more powerful. Notes are public by default, but often there are times when you might want to keep one just to yourself. Now you can, any note can be turned to private and viewable by just you.

What's more you can even simply ask the NOAN Assistant to make a private note and it will automatically add a note that is locked and safe from other team members viewing it.

Notes that are set to private are only available for recall by the assistant for the user who they belong to. So you don't have to worry about another team member asking the assistant to access them.

We've updated NOAN's white label Client Mode with a new feature enabling users to turn on the knowledge page for their clients.

Now if you're working with a client, when you choose you can enable them to edit or tweak their knowledge. This adds an entire new layer of flexibility for any consultants who wish to add AI to their operations and products. This means you can seamlessly onboard a client, then refine their knowledge in your version of NOAN, before turning on knowledge for your client.

How to turn it on - go to Client Mode settings, select Knowledge as an option and it will show for your clients in their white label dashboard.

When you're running a business there's often spreadsheets you need to analyze regularly for certain things. This could be event feedback from your users, or your financial information. Our new Document Insights Widget in the Activity dashboard now makes that easy.

You can connect any google sheet and set what you want NOAN to analyze every 24 hours. For instance, that could be 'tell me the latest themes in our feedback' NOAN will then run the analysis and display it for you directly in the widget. So whenever you need it, it's right there. Users can make their summaries available to the rest of their team or just keep them private.

We've added tonal control to the NOAN Assistant. So now you can set and select different tones you want to use when working with the assistant.

This opens up a wealth of opportunities for how you develop work for your different audiences in your business. Whether you need a tone for your employees, your partners or your target consumer audience, you can now set it and select it when working with the NOAN Assistant. You can also set a language as part of each tone type and even switch between different tones mid conversation.

Tones can be set in your project settings by any user with admin or owner permissions and are available for anyone across the organization to use. The tones are then available for selection when working with the assistant.

We've given the NOAN Assistant a major new power by integrating the AI search engine Perplexity, now if you need it the assistant will search the internet for you. It works based on natural language, so if it determines you need something from the internet then it will go and search for the results that you require, it's that simple. You don't need to ask it to specifically search, but if it believes you might need it then it will leverage search results.

When you're talking to the NOAN Assistant it's always working out what you need, whether that's a task added, or a note recalled, or now an internet query. To do this we have multiple LLM models working together to enable you to get the right result at the right time, all with complete conversational control. This blend makes it seamless for a user.

For example you could ask for a summary of a competitors website by just drop the url in and ask it for its take, ask it for news updates on a topic, or ask for competitor analysis. The options are endless and the best thing is you can then ask the NOAN Assistant's advice on whatever your working on, because it always knows your entire business knowledge, so it can put those search results in context of your company. This is what makes the NOAN Assistant a superhuman business partner, it's there with you at every step.

We've added a new piece of functionality in Create Mode that makes it easy to pin any asset you may need to reuse or update. In every asset you'll now see a pin icon. This will put it into a favorites collection so you can access it easily later. The most recent favorited assets by your team will also be show in Activity.

When you're working with the NOAN Assistant you might ask it to create something for you. We've seen that use case quite a few times, for example you might analyze a document and want to create something for a response or outreach.

Well now when your working with the NOAN Assistant in the workspace you can send any response straight to Create Mode, so that you can then edit, make it available to your team or even deploy it via our Zapier integration. It's a small feature but we know it alleviates a point of friction and streamlines the way our users work further.

When you add a note within a Smart Block it gets automatically added to Notes, and now if you're browsing them you'll be able to see the relevant Smart Block that the note is linked to. We've now added the ability to easily search your notes by tag type so you can see at a glance all notes across a business area.

We've also made a few changes to the experience of editing within Notes and Create Mode. Now when you edit you'll get auto-focused on the end of the asset or block content to streamline your experience.

We've added new functionality to enable you to transfer a project to another user. So whether you're a consultant working with a business or you're leaving a project and transferring to a team mate, you now can easily.

All you have to do to transfer is to head to your settings, select general, and choose Transfer Ownership. Transferring will give them ownership of the product and billing as a result.

We've also updated the way NOAN automatically tags your assets in Create Mode and notes and we've now expanded the tagging capability to include a host of new tags.

Now if you create a newsletter, creative brief of any social post you'll automatically get a specific tag. This helps you better sort your notes and content. But more importantly if you're using Zapier to send content to another platform, when you set up the Zap you can use those tags as ways to sort what content is sent. Similarly any content being sent to Notes via a Zapier integration will get a tag.

We've just released a new update to NOAN which opens up a new world of content creation opportunities. With our latest update, you can now seamlessly send your content from NOAN Create to any platform you use for your business, all thanks to our Zapier Integration. Even better - if you connect the unique ID of the content you're deploying on a third-party platform to NOAN, you'll unlock a whole new level of convenience. Whenever you update your asset in NOAN Create, it will automatically sync and update on the platform you're distributing it on.

Here's how it works:

Connect Zapier and elect NOAN as a Trigger. Then choose the content category from which you want to distribute elsewhere - chose from emails, articles and more. You can then set up the destination platform you want to distribute it to, and even add filters in Zapier to get more specific or add further rules on what content goes and when.

If you want to sync the content between NOAN and the third-party platform, simply find the relevant unique content ID from the third party platform, and add it in the asset in NOAN Create (Look for the 🔌 icon near the title). Now, whenever you need to update that piece of content, it will automatically sync with and update on your third-party platform.

We've updated our Zapier app to enable users to automatically send a task straight into NOAN from their favorite business tools.

By using the Tasks zap users can connect up to 7000+ apps with NOAN to add tasks automatically. For instance this could be new calendar entries or new user leads in Typeform to follow up with. One use case we're loving is Slack straight into Tasks - add a hot word and automatically create a task in NOAN by mentioning in Slack and then work with the NOAN Assistant to complete the task.

In our latest release the NOAN Assistant just got another power up! We've added the ability for the assistant to interact with your notes, now your assistant can add, search and recall your notes - all you have to do is just ask it.

The NOAN Assistant is controllable in conversation, so all you have to do is to ask it to interact with your notes or something that could be included in your notes and it will get what you need. Let's say you want to add a note on something for later, simply ask the NOAN Assistant to do it and it will add it for you, what's great is that if it's an idea the assistant will even flesh the idea out for you when it adds the note. If you're looking for a piece of information stored in a note then just ask the assistant to recall it. Remember that whenever the NOAN Assistant is working with you, it's doing so with full knowledge of your business in your Smart Blocks, so you can even ask it to look at your notes and prioritize what it might consider to the be the most important things to work on. When you go to your Notes you'll see those that were added by the NOAN Assistant with an assistant Icon, you can edit these at any time or work with the assistant to flesh them out further. Remember wherever you're working with the assistant, whether directly in the workspace or in blocks you have the same capability.

Connecting Notes with Zapier adds another dimension, because you can zap anything into NOAN you can then use the NOAN Assistant to recall it or search it. So for example if you use a meeting notetaker, zap those notes in and then recall them whenever you need with the NOAN Assistant.

The NOAN Assistant just got another major power up & we're very excited about this one. The assistant now has the ability to recall and update your knowledge in your Smart Blocks. This is a major step forward for NOAN and the ability to control your company with the help of your superhuman business partner. Here's how it works, if you want to know something about your business that is stored in your Smart Blocks, for instance checking your target audience age, or a partnership rate - then just ask the NOAN Assistant for the information. It will be able to recall this information for you. But what's more, if you want to make a change to the knowledge in that Smart Block, then just ask it to update it and it will do that for you. You can even go back and forth with the assistant in conversation and refine the proposed changes before accepting.

What this means for you is that you can now make changes to your business knowledge within NOAN and that change will immediately be live for the Assistant, Create or Client Mode. This will keep your entire business aligned, and if you're working with a team, then team members will immediately be able to create with up to date business knowledge.

NOAN's AI Assistants can now be connected to 7,000 apps. NOAN has just launched a Zapier app, so you can now connect NOAN to any of the 7,000+ apps in the Zapier marketplace, create simple automations & pull content directly into NOAN notes.

Because we've just enabled our AI Assistants to search & recall notes, any content pulled in by Zapier is immediately understood by your AI assistant, meaning they can act on it for you directly within seconds.

This is a huge leap forward and gives users even more power to streamline workflows and keeping all your business tools in sync using NOAN.

Zapier connects NOAN with all the major apps entrepreneurs use to run their business, so the only limit to what you can do is your imagination.

Pushing content into notes is just the beginning - we'll add more actions soon, making NOAN the central hub of your small business stack.

The NOAN Assistant just got a major power up! We've added the ability for it to add, search, delete or even prioritize tasks for you.

It works by natural language, so all you have to do is to ask the assistant to add a task or close a task and it will do it for you in the task manager. You can combine this with other assistant powers. For instance, if you need to list out the required tasks to complete a client SOW? Just upload the SOW and ask the assistant to create the task list for you. Then ask the assistant to add them to your task list, and it'll make sure you have all the detail you need to nail every one. Because the NOAN Assistant always knows the single of truth of your business knowledge via Smart Blocks it can even prioritize your tasks for you every morning. It will give you the rationale of what to do and why.

When the assistant adds or closes a task you'll see it's icon in the tasks manager or latest updates in Activity.

We've added a new assistant to the options available in Create Mode, an SEO Assistant.

The assistant writes highly optimized blog content for your brand. Will consider important SEO factors such as keyword density, content length, heading structure and meta data. Will give you a great article or set of articles to add to your site and increase your traffic.

To access it just use Create Mode and select it.

Knowledge is everything. The NOAN Assistant and Create Mode rely on a single source of truth that you define and manage with Smart Blocks.

We've added a new Knowledge Quality score in Create Mode to make it easy for you to understand whether your output is based on a strong foundation. Hover over it and you'll get a tool tip on where you fit against other NOAN users.

Full width chat for focus - sometimes you need to get in the zone and focus on one single task and this needs a new approach so now you're in full screen conversation.

Document upload - in Workspace you can now add extra knowledge to your assistants. Simply upload a document and your Assistant will be able to read it, search it and give you advice and guidance on it. Just note - we've limited the file size for now as we roll out testing. What's great is if you need something from a document in any other part of the app - those assistants can access it too.

Tools - we're rolling out the first in a new type of functionality called Tools. This enables the assistants to take action on your behalf. The first of these is to create, search and close tasks. If for example you have something you need to do just ask the Assistant to turn it into tasks and add it to your task manager.
