The assistant now opens where you work, and the Workspace page is retired
A floating assistant on the Facts page, your network, each contact and the tasks board, opened with ⌘K or Ctrl+K, replaces the separate Workspace page for everyone who works with NOAN's assistant.
Until now, talking to the assistant meant leaving what you were doing. You opened Assistant (Workspace) from the sidebar, and the assistant had no idea which stack, contact or task you had just been looking at, so every conversation started with you explaining where you were.
What's new
- A floating assistant on the pages you work in. It now opens on top of the Facts page, your network, each contact's page and the tasks board, so you can ask a question without losing your place.
- It knows what you are looking at. On the Facts page it knows which stack you have selected, and on a contact's page it knows which contact you are viewing.
- ⌘K opens it (Ctrl+K on Windows and Linux), and the shortcut is shown on the assistant button. Press Escape to close it again, as long as you have not typed anything.
- Open a conversation full page. A button at the top of the assistant opens the current conversation in full-page view, even before you have sent your first message.
- Notes on tasks. Ask the assistant to add a note to an existing task and it attaches the note to that task. Notes the assistant writes carry the assistant's avatar, so you can tell them apart from your team's.
Workspace is retired
The Assistant (Workspace) link is gone from the sidebar. Conversations still get a full page of their own, now at a /thread/ address, and links to conversations saved or shared under the old Workspace address keep working.
Why it matters
You are on a prospect's page ten minutes before a call and want to know what was last agreed. Press ⌘K, ask, and the assistant already knows which contact you mean, without a new tab or a recap. The same goes for the pricing stack you are checking or the task you want to leave a note on. NOAN is meant to be one place to see what is happening, and that works better when the help sits in the same place as the work.
Open the Facts page, your network, any contact or the tasks board, then press ⌘K or click the assistant button.
Good to know: an empty conversation no longer shows the "Suggestions for you" list, and the shortcut works only on pages that have the floating assistant.
